Les and Linda Green to Minister Sunday, June 23rd, at 10am

Greater Victory Fellowship, located in the former Orwell Grade School Building at 2056 County Route 2 in Orwell, is pleased to welcome Les and Linda Green for special music and preaching on Sunday June 23rd, at 10am.

Les Green, an experienced communicator and soloist, is no stranger to Christian music. While attending Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts, he formed a quartet called The Helmsmen, which continued for several years after college and won many Christian music awards.In 1974, Les joined the Dove Award nominated quartet The Envoys. At that time, Les and Linda moved to Charlotte, N.C., The Envoys base of operations. Les’ vocal range and diversity proved to be a valuable asset while performing with the Envoys, both on their T.V. program aired on the CBN network and also for notables such as Bill Gaither, Rex Humbard, Pat Robertson, and Billy Graham.After leaving The Envoys in 1978, Les pursued a solo ministry for the next eight years while also recording background vocals for various artists including the Glenn Miller Orchestra.In 1986, after much prayer, Les’ ministry changed forever when Linda, an elementary school teacher and his wife since 1971, left teaching to travel and sing with him full-time. Linda’s addition brought not only a genuine Christian commitment but a great vocal talent as well. Her rich but gentle Alto voice has ministered to thousands of people through songs like: “I Miss My Time With You,” and the beautiful, “Touch Of The Master’s Hand.”The Greens’ style of music reflects the diversity of years of experience. From a warm, family Gaither melody, to a “let the joy out” Southern Gospel song, to a contemporary praise and worship chorus, every song on each of their 13 albums is an extension of The Greens’ God-given talent and calling to win people to Christ and encourage God’s Church. Each year The Greens travel full-time in their motor coach performing in over 200 churches, retreats, and family campgrounds in the United States and Canada.Les and Linda Green are a gifted vocal duet formerly from Charlotte, N.C., now residing in Fulton, N.Y. The Greens have three sons, Jeremiah, Christopher, and Bradley. All three of the Greens’ sons participate in some way in their parents ministry.

Indoor/ Outdoor Trunk or Treat Wednesday Oct. 31st (5-8:00 pm)

Dear Friends,

Each year, Halloween presents us with a great opportunity to reach out to our community with God’s Love and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. At GVF we have had several very successful outreach efforts in the past and our hope is that this year will be no exception. This year we are having a indoor/outdoor “Trunk or Treat” event. We are looking for people to sign up to come dressed as their favorite bible character or to depict their favorite bible story this Halloween (Wed Oct. 31st) We would like each person or team of people to man a station, either outdoors or indoors ( car trunk or indoor table), and to bring and be ready to distribute at least 250+ pieces candy. Our church will be purchasing gospel tracts for you to hand out and we can print any verses of scripture you would like to distribute describing your particular bible story or character.

Last year we had stations set up depicting Jesus in the 7 I AM’s of the Bible. This year we are hoping to involve even more people in this outreach ministry. We also need volunteers to help with refreshments–cookies, donuts, coffee and apple cider etc.

As always, we need everyone’s help to be successful. So… who would you like to be this Halloween? I have included a list of Bible characters/stories for you to take a look at. I will also have a sign up sheet available at church this coming Sunday. All or our members and friends are welcome to participate in this outreach.

Please feel fee to email me with any questions or to put down your name and what Bible character or story you would like to portray at GVF on Halloween. You can also sign up at on Sunday. You will be blessed and we can make a difference if we all work together.
